Housewife Style

I’ll admit, I am a fan of the Housewives shows.  I enjoy taking a peek into other people’s homes and lives.  I’m also a fan of Hoarders, so I get both ends of the spectrum: shiny, gold spotless mansions and possum-ridden, trash-filled, smaller (usually) homes.  I’m curious about it all.  I guess I’m a voyeur at heart.

I was pleased to see a photo of Carolyn Manzo from RHW of NJ wearing a dress very similar to one that Diviine Modestee has designed and has available online and in our store.

Here’s Caroline on the left, looking fabulous in her red dress with a bow on the shoulder.  Plus, I really love her shoes!  In general I’m not a huge fan of Carolyn.  I think her advice is kind of bland and cliched.  But like all the Housewives, she has a fantastic dress-up wardrobe full of beautiful gowns and dresses.

Our dress, the Vanessa also sports a shoulder bow, which is initially what caught my eye when comparing these two dresses.

The Vanessa, shown on the right ———–> has the similar bow on the shoulder.  It is also a red, but a much more universally flattering shade of red that we call ‘watermelon’.  Vanessa also adds a little more coverage with it’s cap-sleeves and added length.  Best of all though, is the horizontal bands that run down the length of the body of the dress.  These bands are so flattering and concealing of those lumps and bumps, which I am a pro at.  Lumps and bumps.  And knowing how to camouflage them.  We recently had a small focus group of women of various ages and sizes try this dress on and with it’s slimming cut and the bands, it was honestly flattering on everyone who tried it on and it seemed to have an ageless appeal.

I haven’t purchased this dress myself yet, but I tried it on and loved it.  But more importantly, if it gives me an excuse to track down some heels like Carolyn’s wearing (check out the link, these are cuter!) I won’t hesitate to buy it in a heartbeat.

New Diviine Deed-Daniel Lynch

Diviine Modestee is doing something it’s never done before: we are starting off this next Diviine Deed by donating $1000 AND we will be matching your donations dollar-for-dollar!

Three-and-a-half years ago Daniel (age 18) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. After treatment, Daniel was ready to rock and roll with his new lease on life.  Then just this past April he found out his cancer had returned.

Daniel’s father has Alzheimers which leaves his mother as the sole provider for the family.  Through Diviine ModesTee’s Diviine Deed Fund, you can help this amazing young man!

We are really passionate about helping Daniel. Chantelle, owner of Diviine Modestee feels a real connection to Daniel since her father was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers and she knows first-hand how much support from others truly means.

So we are launching this Diviine Deed Fund for Daniel with a donation of $1000 and would like to ask for your donations which we will match dollar-for-dollar. Please help us grow this Fund for Daniel.  If you are interested in donating, please contact our store at 801-785-1486 or donations can be made directly through our website.  Each little bit helps, especially as we will be matching your donations.  We want to be able to give Daniel’s family a check for $5000 by the end of September.

Even if you can’t actually donate money, please forward this link and info on to all your friends.  Thank you so much for all your support!

Swimwear is 40% off during our Customer Appreciation Sale

Just in case you missed it, we are running a customer appreciation sale to show you, our customers, how much we appreciate your support.  You have been amazing in supporting both our company and our Diviine Deed Fund and we know it is customers like you that keep us successful as a business and to also able to help others.

I’ve been highlighting some of our great bargains in the last few emails and blog posts, and our Divinita Sole swimwear is one of those great deals that you really should consider taking advantage of.

All Swimwear 40% off through Sunday

I had a hard time deciding between these two suits when we got our original shipment.  I ended up choosing the one on the left, the Double Ruffle Halter in Mosaic Print and the Turquoise Tennis Skirt just as shown.  In fact that’s me in the photo.  Truth.  Ha!  But seriously I LOVE this suit…the print is very camouflaging.  Much more so than a solid color would be.  And I have always been a fan of the Tennis Skirt and this turquoise color is flattering for brunettes, blondes, redheads….everyone.

The sale includes all our swimwear, not just the two in the photo, so be sure to take a look.  Make sure you use couponcode ‘thankyou’ to receive your 40% discount at check-out.  I’ll be honest, many styles and sizes are selling out or getting very low so don’t wait too long.  Also, just keep in mind that because of the large discount, items purchased on our Customer Appreciation Sale are FINAL SALE.

Skirt $12.60 during Customer Appreciation Sale

One of the great bargains of our Customer Appreciation Sale that we want to highlight is the Satin Skirt.  This skirt retailed at $39 and then was marked down to $21.  With the 40% off coupon code ‘thankyou’ this skirt is only $12.60! Keep in mind, though that sizes may be limited and all clearance items are final sale.

Satin Skirt from Sweet Innocence Dresses by Diviine Modestee

It’s an unbelievable bargain, especially with the upcoming holiday season.  This skirt will go with any black blouse that you own.   I have always told customers in our shop that I love this skirt because I can wear it to church (which I have) and can also wear it to a semi-formal event (have done that too).

Make this skirt the excuse you need to go pick up those hot black heels you’ve been coveting.

Customer Appreciation Sale

We are so incredibly grateful to our amazing customers.  We LOVE the support you have shown to both our company and also your support of our recent Diviine Deed efforts.  Our customers definitely rock!  To show our appreciation, we are giving a 40% discount on everything on our website….dresses, swimwear, camisoles and best of all, 40% off of CLEARANCE!  Use coupon code thankyou to redeem your 40% discount on your order as our thank you to you!

A BIG “Thank You!” from Diviine ModesTee

Starting back in April, we were finally able to launch our Diviine Deed, which has been a dream of Chantelle’s since the very start of Diviine ModesTee.  In conjunction with a great foundation called Anything For a Friend we set out to help Cody Anderson, a young husband and farther suffering from a debilitating disease that left him requiring an organ transplant for survival.

Cody and Family

We set out to help fund-raise by promoting and accepting direct donations through both our website and our boutique and donating 2% of our gross sales to Cody.
We were also able to participate in an awesome fund-raising event that took place at the beginning of June.  Through all these efforts and especially those of Anything For A Friend, over $84,000 were raised!  Cody is now set for his much needed surgery!  We are so excited to have been a part of this along with you, are wonderful customers.  Thank you so much for your donations, your purchases and your over-all support for this great family!
You can read more about Cody’s great fundraising event at his blog and also follow his future progress there as well.  For fun, here are a few photos from the event:

Wardrobe Basics for Fall

Fall is definitely in the air and with it comes the new trends and styles for the season. One of the best ways to showcase a trendy addition to your wardrobe is to pair that trend piece with a few simple basics that every wardrobe should have. Make these basics the best quality you can afford since you may be wearing them often.

1. Denim jeans, preferably skinny or straight leg
2. Pencil skirt-Black or a neutral tan
3. Black Leggings
4. Skimmer or ballet flats
5. Cardigan-This season’s trend is the 3/4 length sleeve
6. Long layering tanks and tees (white, black, cream and/or grey)
7. Camisoles-Again start with the basic colors listed above.
8. A great pair of boots
Personally my favorite discovery this fall is the legging. What a great way to make what would normally be a too-short dress into a trendy, modest, hip look! The legging used to be strictly for Hollywood Elite or teenagers, but not so any longer. And not only does the legging make a dress modest, but it covers up that extra thigh flab (not that I would know. *sshhhhh…..*)
