This is the one my cute daughter picked out.  She’s 12 and wears our size XS.  She’s excited about it because she loves the ruffle on the bottom and the fact that it’s a tankini, not a halter.  She’s a blondie, so the Nautical Blue looks adorable on her.

And this is the one I’m planning on getting for myself.  I love the ruching to help conceal those problem areas I don’t like to admit that I have.  Also, I’m limited in what I can pick because I don’t want to look like my daughter’s older twin.

Look What’s Here!

We are beyond giddy at Diviine Modestee!  When we arrived at the warehouse this morning our truck FILLED with 2012 Divinita Sole Swimwear was finally here.

Shipping from overseas can be a lengthy and unpredictable process, leaving us never quite knowing exactly when our shipment was going to come.  But finally, almost better than Christmas, the new swimsuits are here.

We rounded up some hard workers and got to work unloading the truck.  When the truck first arrived and the doors were unlocked it was completely full.

Meet Weston, the brother of our Warehouse Manager, Kellie.  He paused a moment in his hard work to remind us to hang loose.

Kellie is our fearless warehouse manager and fork-lift operator.  She’s only 21, but doesn’t let anything stop her from trying something new.  She taught herself how to drive the forklift and now does cookies and  pops wheelies out in the parking lot on a daily basis.

Once a load of boxes was brought into the warehouse, Roxanne, our Office Manager, and her sister inventoried them and stacked them in their designated areas.

Half Full!  By the time we’re done, this warehouse is stuffed with goodies!

Finally the truck is emptied and all the tired workers hop out of the truck with whatever energy they have left and can muster.  When all is said and done, hundreds of boxes and thousands of swimsuits have been unloaded and shelved.

And believe it or not, once the truck leaves the REAL work begins.

We are so excited! Our new swimwear is just about here!  Finally, after all the sneak-peeks and early previews (aka teasers) we are almost ready!  Kellie, our Warehouse Manager is hard at work organizing and making room for our new shipment.  Emilee, our Order Fulfillment Specialist is getting all the orders up to date in anticipation of all the new orders that will come in.  Dave, our Web Master is burning the midnight oil getting the new website ready to go live with the new swimwear and Roxanne, our Office Manager is interviewing and hiring for staff in various positions to make it ALL happen!  Busy little bees we all are

Having Fun with the Latest Meme

Like you, I keep seeing the latest “What I Do” meme on my Facebook Newsfeed. So we decided to make up our own, just for fun meme:

Why kiss? Here’s a few good reasons

Happy Valentine’s Day to all our fabulous fans and followers!  Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day with your honey or whether you un-valentine, it never hurts to peck a few lips and here’s why:

1. Burns Calories.  Really, what’s funner a kiss or two, or time on the treadmill?  My vote is definitely a kiss or two, which will actually burn about 2 calories per minute.  Not much, but if you kiss for a while….well…you get the idea.

2. Better Dental Visits. The last thing you are thinking of while kissing a loved one is your teeth, other than how clean they are, but it’s true. Kissing results in more saliva being produced which in turn results in killing more mouth bacteria.  Just please make sure you don’t drool…

3.  It’s a Natural Pain Killer.  The next time you stub your toe or have a migraine, give a good smooch.  Kissing releases oxytocin, dopamine and endorphins.  Dopamine is responsible for feelings of pleasure and endorphins are known to relieve pain in the body and also lead to feelings of euphoria.  Perhaps this is why (true story) I actually had a doctor tell me to “visit my husband” the next time I had a migraine.  I never went back to him, but maybe he was actually on to something!

4.  Kissing is a Stress Reducer.  The oxytocin that our brain creates increases as we kiss.  Oxytocin is the hormone thought to reduce stress and also increase feelings of happiness.  

5.  Increases Your Emotional Connection.  The most important reason to kiss for sure!  Cavities, stress and pain aside, being emotionally connected to those we love is the BEST side effect of kissing that I can think of.

For those of you who un-valentine today, these benefits don’t only work for kissing your honey.  Give a child a peck on the head, smooch your puppy…it will brighten your day and make you happy!

Fun Spring Makeup!

I think we all occasionally get in a funk in regards our beauty products. It can get boring, at least for me, to grab the same color of eye shadow and put it on day after day after day (ok…sometimes only on Sundays!)  If you feel like you are in a makeup rut and doing your makeup makes you feel like this:

I feel the same way sometimes, sweetie.

Then hopefully these fun Spring makeup trends will get you excited for makeup once again!  Spring is always a time for  renewal and change.  It’s the perfect time to get your rejuvenation on.  Here’s what’s up for 2012:

1.  The Nude or Fresh Face.  Seen all over the runways recently was the Fresh Face or Nude Face.  For me, this look has been around for a while, haha!

Sheer foundation, tinted moisturizer, soft eyebrows and pink lips are the basics of the Nude/Fresh Face.  However, I’ve heard it on good authority that to do this style of makeup it takes just as long as a “full face”… boo!

2.  Metallic Eyes: A bit of metallic shine adds sparkle and shimmer can be really refreshing and fun.  Paired with a pretty pink lip, this look has a fresh and natural feel.

So if you’ve been holding on to that silver shadow from the 80′s that you loved and waiting for it to make a re-appearance, now is the time!  (just kidding, throw out your old makeup! ICK!) Sheer washes of silver can really sparkle up the eye, and blended well, the shine looks like it’s coming from within.

3.  Bold Red: Red appeared all over the fashion runways on anything from eyes to lips to nails.  This makeup trend is inspired by the ever-fun Vintage/Retro fashion.  Have thinner lips like me? Go for red nails!  I think red eyeshadow goes without saying….don’t.

4.  Pops of Color: Your Nude Face doesn’t have to be totally nude.  This is my personal favorite and in my opinion very perfect for Spring.  Pops of color can be added best on the eyes in either shadow sweeping into the crease or as liner, take your pick.

5.  Doll Lashes: Love this one as well! Everyone wants long lashes whether real, prescription-enhanced, extensions or fake.  This trend is also a result of the Vintage/Retro fashion trend, and can be a great look combined with red lips for a full-out retro vibe.

Please don’t become a Fashion Trend

Recently, I’ve noticed a trend on one of the websites that I purchase from frequently…pants and jeans with super-low crotches. The drop-crotch jean. I thought it was just this particular company trying to be trendy and fashion-forward, but no…apparently not. A quick Google search for “Drop Crotch Pants” showed me that drop-crotch pants are all over the place on fashion websites.

Here’s what I’m talking about:

I just can’t. Proportions are so off.  I’m sure they are comfortable…no camel toe, no worries about too tight in the bum.  But still…I really just can’t with these.

How about you, is this a fashion trend that you will try?  do you like it? hate it?
